Just twenty Alstom EMU250 units were completed by Alstom of Italy, these serving Poland operator PKP.

The Alstom ED250 is an Electric Multiple Unit (EMU) train in the New Pendolino series. Twenty units were produced from 2011 until 2014 by Alstom Savigliano of Italy. The type serves exclusively with PKP Intercity of Poland where it connects passenger hubs such as Warsaw, Krakow, and Wroclaw.

Top speed of the train is 155 miles-per-hour (250 kmh). At its full completed length, it has seven cars and seats a total of 402 passengers. Length is 187.4 meters with a beam of 2.83 meters and a height of 4.1 meters. Axle load is 17 tons while the train's service weight is rated at 410 tons. The axle arrangement is 1A'A1 + 1A'A1' + 2'2' + 2'2' + 2'2' + 1A'A1' + 1A'A1'. Wagon layout is as follows: SSDDDSS.

As with most high-speed "bullet" type trains, the driver sits at front-center in the all-modern cockpit. A large windscreen is at front with dual outward-swinging wiper blades. A pair of headlamps are seated low and to the sides of the "snout" nose assembly.

Electric systems in play are the 15kV AC 16.7Hz, the 25kV AC 50Hz, and the 3kV DC. Eight engines produce 708kW of power, equaling approximately 5,500 to 5,664kW of electrical power.
